I took a ride through BlaBlaCar and met an amazing Turkish man. We spent the whole journey talking in Turkish, so the ride turned into both transportation and a language lesson at the same time. It had been such a long time since I traveled completely on my own, so this solo trip felt necessary. The drive from Muğla takes around two hours, but honestly, I didn’t even notice the time passing because our conversation was so entertaining.

It wasn’t my first time in Denizli, but I really enjoy this city. To be honest, Denizli itself is not the prettiest city in Turkey, but it has so many interesting places to visit and a lot of nature around it: parks, mountains and beautiful landscapes that make the atmosphere really special.

Today I spent most of my time walking around the old town. I stopped by Gratis to buy some sunscreen, but the main reason I came here was for the hammam experience. The hammam I visited is called Lara Form Spa and honestly, it is incredible. I’ve already been there twice before: the first time with my friend Barbara from Portugal, whom I met during my project and the second time with my mom. Every single visit has been amazing. For only around €30, you get a full package: sauna, Turkish bath, foam massage, scrub, face mask, drinks, everything included. It’s genuinely the best hammam experience I’ve had in Turkey so far. The quality, the atmosphere and especially the staff are all wonderful. I will definitely come back again.

After the spa, I was extremely hungry, so of course I decided to eat kebab, my favorite food in Turkey. Back in Poland, I had been vegetarian for a long time, but in Turkey it became difficult for me to find enough vegetarian options, so eventually I started eating meat again and honestly, I don’t regret it. Adana kebab is simply amazing, especially if you like spicy food. This time I ordered it wrapped with fries inside and classic sauce, served with salad and yogurt on the side – everything served by Dürümger. It was absolutely delicious.

Later, I went to the park near the bus station and spent some time lying on the grass, surrounded by nature. Nearby there was a beautiful mosque and during prayer time I could hear the call to prayer echoing through the city. It created such a peaceful atmosphere. And of course, since this is Turkey, there were cats everywhere, which made me even happier.

Days like this remind me that sometimes the best decision is simply to go alone instead of waiting for someone to join you. You just make the decision, pack your things, and go. Somehow, when you are brave enough to travel solo, you always end up meeting the right people along the way. Honestly, I think I enjoyed today even more because I was alone. It was one of those calm, simple, perfect days.

That’s it for today.
