Family arrival and slow days by the sea

Monday

There’s something special about the moment when your parents finally arrive during a trip. Suddenly, the pace changes, jokes multiply, and everything feels warmer, even if the weather stays the same. Monday started exactly like that, good moods only and lots of laughter from the very first hug

We began with a great lunch at Gastro Muğla. Simple, honest food, köfte done right. Later came coffee at Mabolla Fredo, where my mum and Michał tried salep for the first time. Thick, sweet, warming. Watching their surprised expressions was a highlight of the day.

The drive to Akyaka felt like a postcard in motion. Curvy, scenic roads, views that force you to slow down and look around. In the evening, we took a calm walk by the sea. No plans, no rush, just water, wind, and quiet conversations.

Tuesday

Waking up in Akyaka feels like a small gift. The sea visible straight from the window, soft morning light, and that deep sense of calm you don’t get in cities.

Breakfast at Febiha 1921 was delicious, followed by a beach walk with coffee in hand, my favorite kind of morning ritual. Around noon, we escaped even further into nature and drove to Ula Göleti Lake. Total emptiness. Nature sounds only, small waterfalls, still water reflecting everything around us. We stood there longer than planned, simply watching and listening.

The evening brought us to Denizli, where we had incredibly good gluten-free burgers at SOS Burger. The mushroom one deserves a special mention.

Tuesday ended in the best possible way, a balinese massage and hammam at Lara Forum Spa. It was my second visit, and I can recommend it wholeheartedly. Every time the foam part begins, I burst into laughter. Being covered in bubbles feels like living inside a cloud and I absolutely love it.
